    Michael Flux says:

    “A warning about having cats and dogs. ”

    Yes. “If you have cats and dogs living together, don’t let the cat hump the dog”.

    -_-;

    ROTFL on Michael’s comment. :D

    Looks like a pretty decent neighbourhood, but damn all the apartment building are so uniform looking. I’d have trouble finding my own apartment block if I stay there! LOL

    foongpc says:

    Nice photos! The neighbourhood you stay in looks nice!

    They really have funny cartoons/pictures eg. the cats and dogs warning and the manhole. I like that!

    Wow! I love the park. The trail looks endless, my kind of park! : )

    Multistorey car parks? Really save space, good idea!

    What’s the function of all those 6s?

    @Michael Flux
    LOL. Lets keep this blog clean and free from Da Animal Pornz

    @lina
    Haha yeah, when my friend stayed with me who could never remember which building it was lol. I left him at the supermarket once and he went to the wrong building… lol

    @foongc
    Yah its nice. Really green (for Japan) and those cartoons are cool right? One of the things I like about Japan!

    Yeah those car parks are like crazy, disapearing cars and stuff.

    I dont know what the 6s are. To tell the truth I only noticed they were 6s from the photos LOL

  5. July 4th, 2009 at 1:10 pm

    Michael Flux says:

    @Prometheus - WTF?! But that’s the best kind!!!!

    Also, to answer the question about the “6s”… From what I understand they accomplish two things. First, prevent the cars from going onto the sidewalk… Second… you can sit on them I guess, though from the looks of it, your ass would have to be pretty small…

    the best kind..

    Good theory about them being seats. I think it might be some sort of spiritual thing..

    It looks like a nice neighborhood.

    Nino says:

    I must say these pics look very nice. Everything is so neat and clean like in Germany. Don’t see littering, don’t see a tiny bit of damaged facade or road. Impressive. On the other hand, it looks very sterile, almost no people ( I thought Japan was overcrowded). I personally prefer countries like Malaysia, it’s loud, hot and not so clean at all, but it’s fun because it’s so chaotic and the people are really friendly and open. So that made me think: What is more important, clean environment with reserved people or not so clean environment with openminded people?

  9. July 4th, 2009 at 11:41 pm

    Prometheus says:

    @Tornadoes28
    Yah its a really nice place to live.

    @Nino
    The reason for no people is because it was like 6-7am when I took them. Also its a residential area! Cleanliness its pretty awesome compared to dirty London lol..

    I prefer openminded people all day yo :P not contest!

    Prometheus this was great! Another blog friend of mine kinda did this too, and I’m really really happy to see more of this, I think its an awesome idea.

    In tokyo do people really play those little slot machine things constantly everywhere?

    *sigh * makes me wish I was back in Japan. I loved walking around the The neighborhood off campus in nagoya. Loved the pics you took of your neighborhood.
    Japan has this look to it that I love and each time I see pictures like this I get taken back to my time there. I should get a new camera and take shots of where I’m living in NYC.. but I can assure you it’s not as clean as Japan.

    I wish NYC was cleaner but what can ya do :-p

    Jamaipanese says:

    *sob* I am still dragging my leg after being invited to take part in the “around my neighborhood” theme by Micheal.

    all of your neighborhoods are so much more interesting than mine -_- and in my area walking around with a cam taking random pictures of stuff mine get you sent to the mental hospital which is right next to my housing scheme.

    I will do it, next weekend I really really will!

  13. July 5th, 2009 at 11:27 am

    Prometheus says:

    @Mr C
    Glad you like it. They play the slots. It is called Pachinko. If you walk past and the doors open you might lose your hearing, it is ridiculously loud in there hehe.

    @Mary
    Yah Japan looks really different. Hope you get the NY snaps. I have never been to america I only know what things look like based on TV hehe.

    @Jamaipanese
    haha guess everbody thinks that there area is not interesting. I would love to see Jamaica though. I was getting a lot of suspcious looks when I was taking the photos lol

    Those small concrete tripping posts (the 6’s) have always baffled me. They don’t serve a purpose that I can see, and they are a safety issue - especially in front of an intersection!

    Cool site, Prometheus. I like your explanation on why you named your site Misspent Life - so true. I’ve read a few if your posts and will be back for sure to read some more.

    All the pictures are tres cool but I like the manhole cover the best! How cute is that? I’m such a girl….

    Renee Khan says:

    Hey Mr. I am totally praising, nothing but praises from me because I loved walking around it with you.

    I totally don’t understand why the parks don’t have grass. When you showed it, I didn’t realize that is what was weird about it at first.

    I am actually also surprised that many of the places look like something I could see here.

    I laughed at the lady with the dog right after you showed the sign.

    Also, you could totally go biking down that park or roller blading.

    I loved it.

    Love Renee xoxoxo

    Really nice pictures! I’m fascinated by the cark parks and I like the never ending park trail. You just walk until you drop dead, right? Just kidding.
    Would love to see more pictures of Japan.

    @Rebecca
    Hehe thanks for passing by. Didnt know people actually read the About page haha. Hehe I actually like the manhole myself. I will stop by your site when I get sometime :D

    @Renee
    w00t w00t, thanks for the praise! THe parks with no grass are really depressing, since it is like a dirty grey color aswell :(

    The dogs are also ridiculous. More than half the people in these buildings own dogs lol. And yeah that park trail is awesome. I might try run to the end one day hehe. Part 2 soon maybe!

  25. July 8th, 2009 at 7:43 am

    Prometheus says:

    @Dutch Donut Girl
    Haha yeah the never ending traill, skulls and stuff on the sides of the road haha.

    I like the fireman art on the drain/pothole thing. x)

    Cheron L. Hall says:

    Wow! When I saw the first picture, I thought: “Where is this? This apartment complex is so unique.” I couldn’t make it out and I’m usually good with recognizing scenery. Then I thought: “He lives in China town somewhere.” lol…never realized it was Japan until I saw so much Japanese lettering…it much really be amazing to live in another country…I’ve never gone anywhere outside of the U.S. except for the occasional novel reading…my imagination is vivid but nothing is like the real thing I suppose….

    very beautiful neighborhood…I could walk that main road forever…

  32. July 13th, 2009 at 9:37 am

    Prometheus says:

    @chloe
    Thanks thanks. It is a nice area to live in.

    @Cheron L. Hall
    The world is your oyster. You shoud travel and see the world! Since you are from the US you can probably go nearly anywhere without much hassle.

    How did you know it was Japanese lettering ? :P

  33. July 15th, 2009 at 10:29 am

    Cheron L. Hall says:

    I guess it was a lucky guess, lol…I figured Japanese or Chinese and when I say I noticed all the Japanese lettering, I meant that here in the U.S. even in Chinatown, there isn’t so much lettering on everything… ;)I am looking forward to traveling, hopefully down into Mexico and then South America…I’m learning Spanish now…
